Abstract: Relationship between “Comfort Women” and “Medical Treatment”
Dr. Kuni Amako is a medical doctor who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. Her father was a Japanese army medical doctor attached to the 14th Clearing Hospital of the Eleventh Army. He left a lot of records and papers concerning the medical treatment of prostitutes, who serviced soldiers as their business. Dr. Amako demonstrates that comfort women were prostitutes who did business for soldiers outside of Japan by illustrating the modern history of Japanese medical treatment and compares it with that of European countries and America.
