SDHF Newsletter No. 21:Protest Against Japan-China Joint History Research Committee Report

February 11, 2010

On January 31, 2010, the Japan-China Joint History Research Committee issued a report
describing the results of their work. It is unwise to engage in “joint historical
research” with representatives of a totalitarian state controlled by the Communist Party.
And to no one’s surprise, the People’s Republic of China reiterates a false claim that
the Japanese perpetrated a massacre of 300,000 Chinese in Nanking. More problematic is
the fact that the Japanese scholars on the Committee did not submit the results of recent
research on Nanking. Instead, they released a report that repeats the superannuated Nanking
“massacre” argument, which can be traced to the accusation aired at the “Tokyo Trials”.

Mr. KASE Hideaki, Chairman of the Committee for the Examination of the Facts about
Nanking issued a statement of protest as bellow.
