Hisae Kennedy

HISAE KENNEDY

Hisae Kennedy is a native of Gunma Prefecture in northwestern Japan. Her growing concern over the years about the comfort-women controversy and other manifestations of anti-Japanese sentiment, and the feeling that she was trapped between two cultures — the US and Japan — motivated her to share her thoughts on Facebook and in other media. Ms. Kennedy’s essays, which have appeared in Will, The History Aficionado, and other publications, have attracted a wide audience. She currently lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan with her husband, a businessman, and their three children.
