The Deception In German President Von Wezsacker’s 1985 Address

By Nishio Kanji,

Abstract

Abstract for Weizsacker’ 1985 address
It has been often said that German had made sincere apology for the committed war
crimes and had expended huge amount of reparations to Jews and other ethnic groups,
while Japan had failed to demonstrate sufficient remorse for their war crimes
committed. This argument assumes that those two countries committed the same
nature of war crimes. However, this assumption is completely wrong. The author points
out that German committed crimes against humanity to Jews, etc. but Japan never
committed such crimes at all. Japan committed conventional war crimes as all other
countries including allied countries did. The real nature of the war crime issue is
explored by this article.
