Sakai Nobuhiko

Profile: Sakai Nobuhiko
Born in 1943, in Kanagawa Prefecture, Mr. Sakai graduated from the University of
Tokyo’s Faculty of Literature. He then completed the Masters Degree Program in
Humanities Studies at the Graduate School of the University of Tokyo. Mr. Sakai
entered the Center for the Compilation of Historical Materials of the University of
Tokyo and engaged in the compilation of Dai Nippon Shiryo (Great Japan Historical
Materials) Editions X and XI.
Mr. Sakai retired in 2006. His major is Imperial court protocol, especially annual
events during the Japanese middle and modern ages. Mr. Sakai is keenly interested in
how the world actually works, and heads the Free Tibet Council.
