Ishiwi Nozomu

Ishiwi Nozomu is an associate professor of comparative literature at Nagasaki Junshin Catholic University and an expert in East Asian civilization. He was born in Tokyo in 1966. In 1989, he graduated from Kyoto University with a degree in Chinese language and literature. In 2000, he completed a doctorate course at the same university without receiving a degree. He became a lecturer at Nagasaki Institute of Applied Science in 2001 and then at Nagasaki Junshin Catholic University in 2008. He assumed his current position in 2009. He also serves as a member of the investigative committee of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation Center for Island Studies and, since 2016, the Special Researcher of Research Team, Cabinet Secretariat Commissioned Research Project on the Senkaku Islands-related Documents. His published essays include Musical Scale of Zi and Kiok Poetry Shikyoku Teichou] (printed in 2007 in Tamkang Journal of Chinese Literature) and Study on Intonational Arrangement in the Syllabary Table Designed by Shim Yak [Shin Yaku Soutei Chui Kouge Setsu] (printed in 2006 in Bulletin of the Department of Chinese Literature Fu Jen Catholic University).
